The iPhone is one of the most popular smartphones on the market, which also makes it one of the most commonly repaired. When something goes wrong, a lot of people’s first question is whether their warranty will cover it. The short answer: Apple’s warranty is limited, and most common repairs — cracked screens, water damage, physical damage — are not covered.
Here’s what you need to know.
What Apple’s Warranty Covers
When you purchase an iPhone, it comes with a one-year limited warranty from Apple. This covers defects in materials and workmanship — essentially, manufacturing problems. It does not cover accidental damage.
The warranty period itself is short. Most people keep their iPhones for two to three years, but coverage expires after just one year. A cracked screen the day after your warranty expires is entirely out of pocket.
What Apple’s Warranty Does Not Cover
The list of exclusions is long. Here are the most common situations that void or fall outside Apple’s warranty:
Accidental damage is not covered. Cracked screens, bent frames, and water damage are all considered user damage, not manufacturing defects. Even if your iPhone is otherwise in perfect condition, a single drop that cracks the screen puts you outside warranty coverage.
Water damage is also not covered, even on newer iPhones with an IP rating. Apple’s water resistance rating is a guideline, not a guarantee, and the warranty explicitly excludes liquid damage.
Using third-party accessories that cause damage can also void coverage. If an aftermarket charger damages your charging port, Apple will not cover the repair under warranty.

Having your iPhone repaired by anyone other than an Apple Authorized Service Provider can void the warranty as well. If your device is still under warranty and you want to keep that coverage intact, bring it to an Apple store or authorized provider first.
What Oasis Savvy’s Warranty Covers
At Oasis Savvy, we back most repairs with a lifetime warranty.
Our lifetime warranty covers defects in the replacement parts and workmanship. If a screen we installed develops dead pixels, touch issues, or display problems that are not caused by a subsequent drop or water exposure, we fix it at no charge. This applies to most screen repairs, battery replacements, and other hardware services.
The warranty does not cover new physical damage after the repair — if you drop your phone and crack the new screen, that is a separate repair. It also does not cover devices with pre-existing water damage.
For battery replacements specifically, we offer a 6-month warranty on parts and labor.
Should You Go to Apple or a Local Repair Shop?
If your iPhone is still under the one-year Apple warranty and the issue appears to be a manufacturing defect, start with Apple. They may cover it at no charge.
For everything else — cracked screens, battery drain, charging port issues, water damage — a local repair shop like Oasis Savvy is typically faster and less expensive, and our lifetime warranty means you are covered long after Apple’s warranty has expired.
